Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Praise be to Jesus Christ.
Were you able to spend last week in grace?
We praise and thank God for allowing and leading us to today’s mass.
I would like to share the results of our 2/6/22 parish council’s workshop.
For the last two years since the pandemic began, we have been unable to do any parish organized events. There were times when we did not have mass and all small group activities have stopped.
Although the pandemic is not over, we discussed how to “normalize” the parish as part of endemic discussions. The following is a summary:
Liturgy:
Additional weekday mass on Friday mornings except during Lent when we have an evening mass.
Resume choir practice
Gatherings:
All group meetings are allowed
Regional (7) groups can meet
Small groups can meet at the church with food and includes kitchen usage
Continue to wear a mask
During meals, social distance @6 feet
Various group age range
Women’s: Monika (55 and below), Holy Mother (56-75), Anna (76+)
Men’s: Daegun (55 and below), Peter (56-75), Joseph (76+)
Each person will join one group
Mother’s group name change to Monika
Each group lead will call or visit at least one member per week
Disinfection:
Eliminate the visitor log
Discontinue disinfecting after each mass; we will disinfect once on Sundays
Continue mask wearing and temperature check; unmanned automatic temperature equipment under review
Since it was our first workshop, it was not as complete as we would like, however, the planning team and the participants worked well together resulting in constructive outcome.
The most important undertaking is to gather in order to evaluate, converse, and communicate on how we can overcome current pandemic challenges. We thank all participants at various levels and give God’s blessings.
Let us meditate for a moment.
